Dennis Lillee kicking Javed Miandad
While most people remember this 1981 match between Pakistan and Australia because of this famous photograph of Javed Miandad raising his bat to hit Dennis Lille, very few know the truth that Javed Miandad’s actions were in self-defence. Watch the video evidence below as it clearly shows Dennis Lillee deliberately getting in the way of Javed Miandad to prevent him from reaching the non-striker’s end and then kicking the Pakistan cricket legend in what appears to be a completely unprovoked attack.

Terrorist attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore
Perhaps the most shocking event in cricket took place on March 3rd in 2009 when a bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team to Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium for day 3 of second test match was attacked by terrorists. It was this incident that marked the departure of international cricket from Pakistan.

Underarm delivery by Trevor Chappell
The infamous under arm delivery by Trevor Chappell can surely be a strong contender for one of the most bizarre incidents in cricket. It took place on 1st Feb 1981 during a one day international between Australia and New Zealand where the Kiwis required 6 runs to win on the last delivery. To ensure that New Zealand team did not get the runs they needed, the Australian captain Greg Chappell instructed his younger brother Trevor Chappell to deliver the last ball underarm.
